George S Male


George S Male served in Company L of the 1st West Virignia Cavalry from March 28, 1865 until the regiment was mustered out of service at the end of the war on July 8, 1865. He enlisted as a substitute for James McFindley. During his service, he was stationed at a remount camp near Pleasant Valley, Maryland.

George applied for a pension for disability on August 23, 1890, and he received this pension until his death on March 6, 1920. He stated he had contracted chronic diahrea during the war which has resulted in multiple complications in his later life which rendered him unable to work.
